Sustainability through Mindfulness

We aim to design long-lasting, timeless pieces utilizing upcycled, recycled, and natural materials. Through our holistic design process, we address real problems to provide better experiences for our customers, while minimizing our environmental impact across each product's entire lifecycle.

Durable by design.

Over 10 million tons of furniture are thrown out in the U.S. every year as a direct result of limited design, absent craftsmanship, and cheap materials. With deep conviction to disrupt that cycle, we consider each design holistically, making thoughtful decisions that weigh trade-offs and improve the status quo. Paired with the exacting standards of our internal production team and a detailed manufacturing process, we ensure that each product is built to be enjoyed each day and last a lifetime. Backed by a warranty to match.

Impact, measured.

We work with key partners to amplify, certify, and measure our sustainability efforts. This includes aiding reforestation with long-standing partner One Tree Planted, attaining the globally recognized GREENGUARD Gold certification, and measuring our carbon footprint with Greenplaces.

Our Partners

"Utilizing rubberwood, a co-product of latex production, allows Thuma's products to have approximately 70% lower eco-impacts [in the manufacturing process] than if created with domestically produced hardwood without any co-products."

In progress.

We’re proud of our progress, but we know that sustainability in practice requires constant evaluation and dedication to continued improvement. As we craft more mindful pieces for the bedroom and thoughtfully expand our collections, we remain committed to our values and environment-first thinking.
