The Art of Staying In

An opening celebration with MOCA.

Looked like going out, felt like staying in. On September 30th, we celebrated the opening of Thuma Melrose and our partnership with the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), Los Angeles—a respected cultural institution and the city’s defining museum of contemporary art.

MOCA made itself at home in our LA Flagship for the season, debuting the partnership with an art installation and curated gift shop. To commemorate our shared commitment to artistry and craft, we brought together local creatives for a celebratory night in. The gathering included a raw bar by Found Oyster, live music by Jason Stewart, and freehand drawings by Jimmy Thompson. From Polaroids and portraits to popcorn and cocktails, guests settled in for the evening from the comfort of our oasis.

Live on the DJ set all night, Jason Stewart’s music curated a relaxing environment.

Guests indulged in a raw bar and light bites from Found Oyster, made by chef Ari Kolender himself. Reserve Event Staff kept handcrafted cocktails flowing throughout the night.

Curled up in conversation, everyone enjoyed staying in for the evening.
