How does The Bed ship?

The Bed ships free in three boxes designed to fit upstairs and through hallways, as needed. Although able to be carried by one person, it's truly a breeze with two.

Where does Thuma ship to?

We ship throughout the U.S, with free shipping within the continental U.S. Currently, we do not have an ETA on international shipping, but please stay tuned!

I'd like to schedule my shipment.

If you'd like to schedule a shipment the Thuma concierge team is happy to help. After you place your order email help@thuma.co and share your order number and the weekday date you'd like your order to arrive. Our team will do our best to time the shipment so it arrives on, or slightly after the desired date.

Am I missing something?

We do our best to make sure all 3 boxes arrive together, but sometimes boxes within the same shipments may arrive at different times. Unfortunately, this is out of our control. If you haven't received all 3 boxes, please go to your shipping confirmation email to access your FedEx tracking number. There you will be able to click on “multi-piece shipment” which will provide access to all 3 tracking numbers corresponding to your shipment with estimated delivery times.

I have issues with my delivery...

In the unlikely event that The Bed arrives damaged, please don't hesitate to email mailto:help@thuma.co. Include pictures of the damaged pieces, and we'll make sure to ship out replacements right away.

How long does shipping/delivery take for The Bed?
When will The Bed arrive?

Accepted Answer

The Bed will arrive in 1-5 business days, not including weekends and federal holidays. In some instances and in certain zip codes, deliveries may be made on Saturday and Sunday. Orders placed prior to 11am PST Monday-Friday will ship same-day. All orders placed after 11am PST will ship the next business day. All transit times shown below are estimates.

How long does it take to set-up/breakdown The Bed?

Once removed from the packaging, The Bed can be assembled in around five minutes by one person without tools. For those who prefer to take their time, you're still likely to be all set-up in under fifteen minutes.

Do I need a box spring?

Accepted Answer

No box springs or bed skirts, please. The slats are perfectly spaced 3" apart to support your mattress while providing optimum support and breathability for your mattress.

Why does The Bed cost so much less than other luxury beds?

By cutting out middlemen and selling directly to you, we're able to design and manufacture beautifully designed, long-lasting beds with high-quality materials at much lower prices than traditional luxury bed retailers.

What color is the frame?

Accepted Answer

Natural walnut coloring boasts unique wood grains and organic imperfections. Subtle color variances are to be expected and celebrated. The bed will appear slightly warmer in artificial light, cooler in natural lighting, and darker in dim lighting.

Is the PillowBoard attached to the frame?

Accepted Answer

The PillowBoard is designed to perfectly slide between your mattress and wall (or any flat surface behind your bed). It is not attached to the frame. When used correctly, it is designed to stay in place, while being easily removable, as needed.

Is the PillowBoard cover removable and washable?

Accepted Answer

Yes! The slip cover is easily removable and washable so that it is easy to keep things fresh. For best results, wash cold and hang dry, or dry clean as needed.

Does the PillowBoard have to go up against a wall?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the PillowBoard has been designed to sit between your mattress and wall, or any flat surface, accommodating for any extrusions(like walls and window sills) up to 2" in size without any problems.

How much weight can The Bed frame hold?

A lot (1,500 lbs.+). They're built for any and all Bed Time activities.

Does The Bed work with my mattress?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The Bed has been designed to work with almost all mattresses, including foam, bed-in-a-box, spring, combination, and traditional mattresses. The Slats are spaced a little less than three inches apart for optimum support and breathability.

What size mattresses work with The Bed?

Accepted Answer

The Bed by Thuma has been designed to work with U.S. standard mattress sizes, currently available in Full (54 x 75"), Queen (60 x 80"), King (76 x 80"), and CA King (72 x 84"). We use standard mattress sizes in all of our photography, with the thickness of mattresses used most in our photography being 10-11".
All mattress thicknesses will work with The Bed, with larger mattresses covering up more of The PillowBoard for a minimalist look, and thinner mattresses creating a more accentuated design element.

Does Thuma offer financing options?

We partner with Affirm in offering financing options. If you'd like to use Affirm to complete your purchase, add your selections to your cart/check-out and fill out shipping information. Once you select "continue to shipping method" you will then be able to select Affirm as a payment option.

Question 19

What is Thuma's return policy?

Accepted Answer

We want everyone to love The Bed as much as we do, but if for any reason you'd like to initiate a return, we're here to help. We offer a 100 night risk-free trial. Reach back out and we'll setup the return. We ask that you hold onto your original packaging if you're thinking about a return. We'll send you prepaid shipping labels, and once the product is checked at our warehouse, we'll issue a full refund.

Does Thuma offer phone support?

We don't offer phone support as we've found most people hate waiting on hold as much as we do. We provide the fastest and best support via email and we'll be sure to get back to you within 1 business day- usually much sooner than that. If you have any questions, please reach out to help@thuma.co.

You must be thinking about "bedtime". But we're talking about Bed Time. The celebration of all the best Times that happen On Bed. Not just that fluffy, sleepy stuff (although we fully support plenty of that, too).

Where does the name Thuma come from?

It's a family name that has been passed down from a grandfather who crafted timeless furniture pieces out of beautiful wood. Meticulously detailed, these pieces all came together using precise joinery, without the crutch of metal hardware, finding permanent homes after being gifted to family and friends. Decades old now, these pieces are still enjoyed and celebrated today, a testament to their design, quality, and longevity.
Our name represents that same attention to detail, craftsmanship, and appreciation for lounge & leisure as the original.
